- I only sell on TikTok Shop or Shopee. Can I use this?
- Not yet for in-app marketplace chat — those platforms don’t allow third-party widgets. If you also have your own website (common for cross-border sellers), use ClerkMint there. Email-based support is on our roadmap.
- Do buyers need to install anything?
- No. Buyers just see a chat button on your website — like any live chat. Only you paste the embed code once during setup (or ask your web person for 5 minutes).
- What goes in the knowledge base?
- Shipping times, return rules, sizing charts, and order-change policies — the questions you answer ten times a day. ClerkMint uses them to reply accurately in English.
- How much is annual billing?
- Starter is $278/year (vs $348 if paid monthly). Growth is $566/year (vs $708 monthly). That’s 20% off — about two months free.
- Is ClerkMint the same as Clerk.com (developer auth)?
- No. ClerkMint is AI customer support for online stores — completely unrelated to developer authentication tools.
- Do I need LINE or WhatsApp?
- No. We start with email and a website chat widget — what most Shopify buyers already use.
- Can Taiwan or China-based sellers use it?
- Yes. Many cross-border sellers use ClerkMint to reply to English-speaking buyers while operating in Chinese locally.
- What AI model should I use?
- ClerkMint uses OpenAI only — we recommend gpt-4o-mini for the best cost and quality. Bring your own API key (BYOK). Grok and other providers are not supported.
